How to install industrial stair treads and grating
Follow these four sequential steps to mount support brackets, align treads, position slip-resistant nosings, and verify structural fastenings.

Execution procedure
- 1Confirm stringer pitch and centerline measurements across the entire flight.
- 2Fasten standard carrier brackets using 1/2-inch Grade 5 structural bolts or continuous fillet welds.
- 3Check that mounting flange faces are parallel within 1/16-inch tolerance.
Recommended tooling
Support bearing width
At least 1.25 in (32 mm) bearing on each side
Carrier bolt engagement
Minimum 2 full threads showing past locknut
Level alignment
Within 1/8 in over 10 ft span
Fastener torque mark
Visual torque-seal stripe on all primary bolts
