How to install industrial stair treads and grating

Follow these four sequential steps to mount support brackets, align treads, position slip-resistant nosings, and verify structural fastenings.

Bracket and support mounting
Min. support bearing: 1.25 in (32 mm) per side
Verify structural stringer layout against construction drawings before fixing carrier plates. Ensure contact flanges sit plumb and level across every support span.

Execution procedure

  • 1Confirm stringer pitch and centerline measurements across the entire flight.
  • 2Fasten standard carrier brackets using 1/2-inch Grade 5 structural bolts or continuous fillet welds.
  • 3Check that mounting flange faces are parallel within 1/16-inch tolerance.

Support bearing width
